David Mebane, founder of Fat Tire Tours, founded the tour company in 1991. Back then, it was called Bullfrog Bike Tours, aiming to bridge the gap between English-speaking travelers and Parisians with a few hours of bike tours. After over 11 years of development, the company eventually operated as Fat Tire Bike Tours. By 2015, all three brands included in the company were consolidated into Fat Tire Tours.
